An original set of six Louis XVI style dining chairs purchased in 1936. Made by Saginaw Furniture in Michigan of walnut wood with a satinwood finish, each has been meticulously reupholstered with a deep ocean blue velveteen fabric. Intricate detailing defines the back slat design with gold-tinted medallions and accents. These chairs are in fantastic condition and present a unique example of American-made Louis XVI style. The set includes five dining chairs and one armed chairs, typical of the times.
While no makers mark remains on the chairs, the original purchase tag is still in possession. Also in possession are the accompanying sideboard, dining cabinet, and extension dining table to these chairs. All pieces are listed on my store if still available.
